Your Cardio Program - 6 Basics Facts to remember.

How many times have you read an article online or in the local newspaper about a new way to lose weight or increase your metabolism in less than 60min/day?

Well, I want to give you the first 3 of 6 basic facts, but more so the rationale behind our TTN cardio interval madness, better known as the BlitZ.

Fact #1 - Heart is a muscle
Fact #2 - Aerobic exercise is defined as an activity that last for 20 minutes or more and requires oxygen.
Fact #3 - Physiological responses change given proper F.I.T. ( Frequency, Intensity and Time).

4 stretches to do EVERYDAY

Frequently, clients, friends and even random people ask me what are some good stretches to do to alleviate their aches and pain.

I often look at the human body as a mighty fort that we have let crumble as we age. So just like we would restore and fortify our nearby Fort of Vancouver, address your major pillars and most of your aches should feel better and alleviate those common pains.

And if you are part of our TTN family circle, you know I preach CONSISTENCY! It is one of the keys to see change (good and bad).

So, view and practice these 4 stretches (or a variation of them) EVERYDAY, and you will experience noticeable change!

7 Ways To Care For Your Back Pain For Those 40 and Older

More often than not we all suffer some level of back pain or aches before we turn 41--- myself included!

Over my 20 some odd years in the fitness and therapy industry I am more certain that lifestyle is 80% of the cause for back pain. And when I say lifestyle I am referring to the 7 common areas that we all seem to think we have a handle on but we are likely to fumble on a weekly, even daily basis.

The 7 Common Areas
1. Rest
2. Movement
3. Stress
4. Eating
5. Position
6. Hot or Cold
7. Modify cause of pain/ache

200 Pounds and coming down

The 200 lb Challenge is off to a GREAT start. We have 10 very cool and fun people (see Fun Pix Mural Wall at our Studio) doing it this first time around.

This weight loss challenge is about support, accountability, and realization.

Support: Having a team on your side (at home, work, and all around you) has been proven over and over to be an effective way to make steady and noticeable weight loss. Just look at the leading weight management program in this country.

Accountability: Weekly hip/waist measurements more than your weigh is an important objective way to track your progress. Remember, you can't modify anything if you don't know what you have or what to modify. You also avoid the "I know, I know..." self- destructive pattern.

Realization: Using our TTN Eating Healthy coaching approach, we can help you objectively and clearly see what patterns, moods and nutritional areas you are likely to succeed at changing in order to reach your weigh loss goal.

We've extended the challenge deadline to Friday June 1, 2012 to accommodate for the number of participants and their individual weight goals.
